Just had someone offer me a Mercedes Benz SLK 230 in exchange for the Mini. 117000 miles, 97R-reg. Hmm. Somehow I don’t think so. I replied with a very polite “No thank you, I’m not looking for an exchange” rather than my initial thought which was “why on earth would I want a clapped out hairdressers car?”

Come On, Go!
Yet again, for the third time, my Mini is on eBay. With no reserve too, so it’s going to sell. It’s only been on an hour though and I’ve got 3 bids, so it’ll be interesting to see what sort of effect the words “NO RESERVE” have on the auction. Fingers crossed that it’s third time lucky…
iTunes Woe
iTunes has a nice little feature that lets you sharing your music library across a network. This works fine between my PC and my Dad’s laptop for example, but with my laptop, I can’t access either. It gets stuck on “Loading Alex’s Music” and nothing appears. All apple’s website will tell me is that I need to open such and such ports in the Windows firewall. Very useful when the firewall is turned off on both computers. It’s an incredibly frustrating situation.
In other news I don’t feel very well today. It is a bit like when I had glandular fever, head feels all fuzzy. I hate feeling like this because once again time is being wasted. I’ve got so much I need to do and now I’m losing time. Aargh!
My Alter Monkey Ego
Everyone has a alter ego in the land of the monkeys. A quick image search on google for just my name, and the first result must be my monkey double. Or at least, he looks like he could be a monkey…

The world is an odd place.
Learning Experience
This weekend has been a busy one, but while not much got done as in things actually being finished, I did make progress with lots of things, and I learnt some stuff in the process.
I have learnt how to get a Wireless card to work on my Linux box. However, while it will now see the DHCP server upstairs and get an IP address, it invariably freezes the whole system within about 5 minutes. That’s not good. So this evening I shall be learning some more as I try to figure out how to uninstall the module and try the lastest CVS version, which allegedly has fixes that stop this happening in it.
I got a frame for the 30″x20″ print of this photo I had done (and it came out brilliantly, courtesy of these people, drilled a hole in the wall and hung it up in my room. I even adjusted my projector light things so it is lit nicely.
I got this to work after lots of fiddling about with the location of font files. Expect to see it somewhere soon.
I took the Mini up to somewhere picturesque and got lots of photos of it so I can really go to town on my next eBay effort with it. It will sell this time!
Most importantly though, Kate visited, and we had a great time together, even though it’s been busy busy busy. Dinner at the Mill Race on Friday was great – I had Pork Loin with black pudding mash and cider gravy, while Kate had the grey mullet. Not to be confused with an old persons hair style…
Incompetence
Why oh why oh why do people not use their brain when doing something? Would it be wrong to take out my frustrations with something large and blunt? You probably have no idea what I’m on about, but with work taking away nearly every responsibility for some unknown reason, I get particularly annoyed when the replacement for me can’t do the job as well…
Of course, it would be nice to be kind of Gordon Ramsey figure about it and go and call whoever did it a ****ing ****. In fact, there’s an idea for a website, Alex’s Website Nightmares. If only there wasn’t webpagesthatsuck.com…
